Susquehanna Pocket Parks Garden Tour

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Susquehanna County, in partnership with the Montrose Area Adult School, are hosting a walking tour of the Pocket Parks in Susquehanna, PA, on Thursday, July 11, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Join Master Gardeners Beth Tingley and Carol McNamara on a guided stroll of five pocket park gardens created and maintained by community volunteers.
The tour will include the Franklin Avenue Pocket Parks, Ira Reynolds Rain Garden, Willow Avenue Hill Garden, Viaduct Park, and Drinker Creek Garden. Participants will gain an understanding of the various design challenges in planning and planting the gardens, including soil conditions, erosion concerns, terrain and slope, and lack of available water. The tour fee is $5.
