Learn to Make Your Own Maple Syrup

February 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Learn how to make your own maple syrup at home on Saturday, Feb. 24, 10-12:30, at Salt Springs Park, 2305 Salt Springs Rd., Montrose, PA.

Meet at the Wheaton House.

Did you know that with locally available supplies that cost less than $50 and tools you likely already have in your kitchen, you can make your own year’s supply of maple syrup?

In this event hosted by the Friends of Salt Springs Park, you will learn how to identify and gather sap from sugar maple trees. Jim Hayes will guide participants through each step of cooking it down to maple syrup. Samples of each phase of the product will be available.

Bring some winter gear because we will be tapping a sugar maple tree and gathering sap at the beginning of the class.

Fee/$5; free for kids and Friends of Salt Springs Park members
